Geocell
At Root Barrier Store, we supply high-quality geocell systems designed for ground stabilisation, erosion control, and load support across a range of landscaping and construction projects. We’ve selected our geocell products for their strength, ease of installation, and long-term performance in demanding environments — from root protection zones to slope reinforcement and retaining structures.
Whether you’re working with soft subsoils or steep gradients, geocells provide a versatile and effective solution for managing ground movement and improving load distribution. The Techcell range includes a variety of cell depths to suit different project requirements, all manufactured for durability and consistent performance.
What is Geocell?
Geocells are three-dimensional, honeycomb-like structures typically made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Supplied in a collapsed, accordion-like form, they are expanded on site and filled with compacted materials such as soil, gravel or crushed stone. This creates a solid, reinforced layer that confines the infill, reduces lateral movement, and enhances structural stability.
Common uses include:
- Slope and embankment reinforcement
- Tree root protection
- Retaining wall backfill support
- Load-bearing surfaces such as access roads and driveways
- Erosion control in drainage channels and water-sensitive areas
Their design promotes quick installation, adaptability to site conditions, and long-lasting ground support in both temporary and permanent settings.
